The valley of Valnerina is a captivating area full of charm.

If you enjoy being out in nature and want to learn more about the history and traditions of this valley, you can’t miss our educational walks exploring its villages, woods and ancient crafts.

Take part in our excursion and venture into the area’s lush and flourishing nature and discover its picturesque villages. You can follow an interesting itinerary that will enable you to discover the most significant symbols of the Valnerina, crafted via the wisdom, ingenuity and dedication of the builders of the past, such as the ancient castle inside the fortified village, the 13th-century Benedictine abbey and the 14th-century Romanesque-style bridge.

During the excursion you will be able to enjoy relaxing and carefree moments in harmony with nature and admire the marvellous plants and take in their heady fragrances. Walking along the picturesque paths you will also be able to stop and pick herbs to take with you as a souvenir.

You can come on these excursions alone, with friends or with your family because the routes are suitable for everyone. You’ll explore these beautiful places together with our guides who will provide with interesting explanations and anecdotes.

On the way, you’ll see pretty country churches and marvellous springs, waterfalls and streams. You’ll discover the close link between nature and agriculture and appreciate renowned local products. You’ll also have the chance to visit an interesting area once used for olive tree cultivation or you can choose to discover ancient trades related to the production of lime and coal.

You can enjoy this experience throughout the year but the herbs and flowers that you will find during the walk will change according to the seasons. In winter a smaller ‘harvest’ should be expected, but the meal/tasting will be equally delicious in every season.
