Touring Todi you’ll see a town with a typically medieval character, with the exception of some monuments from other eras and with varying styles. One of these is represented by the Tempio della Consolazione, in splendid Renaissance style, whose design is attributed to the famous Donato Bramante.

In the centre of the town, after having walked up a stairway that takes you to the top of a hill, we will see the Chiesa di San Fortunato with its beautiful Gothic style and which houses the Tomb of Jacopone da Todi. This point of the town, especially the bell tower, will offer you a sweeping panoramic view of the town that will leave you breathless. A short walk will take us to Colle Nidoli, precisely to the charming Piazza del Popolo made even more beautiful by Todi’s medieval public buildings: the splendid Palazzo del Popolo or del Podestà, the Palazzo del Capitano and the Palazzo dei Priori, of which you can admire the majestic exterior. These buildings, which represented secular power, are flanked by the Duomo, or the Cattedrale di Maria Santissima Annunziata, the symbol of the most important religious power in the town. In Todi you will also have the chance to contemplate wonderful panoramic views, typical squares and pretty little alleys.

You can extend your guided tour by exploring the Museo Civico, where you’ll see important exhibits from the town’s past, as well as the Chiesa di Santa Maria in Camuccia and the excavations that have brought to light archaeological finds dating back to Roman times.

The Roman Cisterns found under Piazza del Popolo are incredible feats of hydraulic engineering and are well worth seeing.

We will be moving mostly on foot so we recommend comfortable clothing, sun glasses or a hat for the sun in warmer times of year, and a anorak or a warm hat in the colder seasons.

the afternoon visit will begin immediately after lunch, between 2.30 pm and 3.00 pm, and will last as long as the morning tour.
