The ring of the village of Giano and the abbey of San Felice
The walk starts in the village of Giano and winds its way through the countryside, passing the magnificent Abbazia di San Felice
From the slopes of the Martani mountains, we will be heading up from Bevagna or Montefalco towards the top, where you’ll find the magnificent village of Giano dell’Umbria. Sitting snugly surrounded by nature, it looks down at the vineyards and as far as the Umbria valley.
Our guide will accompany you on the trek that will lead you through the lush and boundless natural landscape that characterises the area. The walk will continue, in turn along country roads and as well as on trails in open landscapes, passing by the abbey of San Felice, a splendid example of Romanesque architecture that has remained intact over the centuries. Its origins are not certain, but it definitely dates back to before 1000 AD.
