Learn how to make italian pasta and bread
Our food-related course puts wheat centre stage since it has become the most important and fundamental grain in our daily life. At a typical farm in the Umbrian countryside, you will be able to make and taste italian pasta and other foods that you cook yourself. The workshop starts with a visit to the farm to see the animals and the crops that are most typical of Umbria’s countryside, with particular emphasis on wheat-harvesting techniques. We then move on to see how the harvested grain is milled via the use of a traditional stone mill to produce flour. The flour will then be used to make bread and handmade pasta. Watching the woman kneading the pasta and proudly and enthusiastically explaining the technique they use is truly a fascinating and educational experience. You will then have the opportunity to taste the foods produced during the workshop in combination with various dairy products from the farm. We guarantee you’ll get a real, authentic Umbrian cooking experience, enabling you to touch, smell and taste all the nuances of our region!
