Cooking class exploring the flavours of Umbria – Assisi and Foligno
Umbria is a region that is rich in art and culture, nature and spirituality, and adventure and hiking but undoubtedly its fine food and wine are also bastions of centuries-old tradition, handed down through the generations, exemplifying the perfect union between the territory and the its representative products. On this cooking course we’ll give you the chance to cook some of our region’s typical dishes so that you’ll be able to replicate them in the comfort of your own home.
The cooking class in Umbria will start with a small introduction to the foods and ingredients that will be cooked and then move on to a hands-on explanation and demonstration of the preparation processes and cooking techniques. Depending on your tastes and the availability of the produce, you can venture into preparing various dishes which you can arrange in advance with us or with the cook during the class. We will start with appetisers and then move on to the first course, which often involves making pasta, and then continues with meat, fish or vegetarian second/main courses. We will end the course with a typical dessert. All the dishes are strictly part of the Umbrian culinary tradition. During all the preparation phases you will be guided by the venue’s qualified staff. The day will end with a dinner/lunch where you will have the opportunity to taste the dishes you have cooked yourself, paired with local wines.
