Tracking down truffles in Umbria

Come and experience a tour dedicated to one of Umbria’s most popular products: truffles!

The Umbrian truffle is considered one of the most sought-after delicacies in Italian gastronomy, rated almost as highly as its noblest cousins in the North of Italy. In Umbria, handmade pasta and classic bruschetta represent the ideal combination with truffles. On this tour, we will take you to discover the techniques behind truffle hunting, with the help of a ‘digger’ with decades of experience. Accompanied by our friendly four-legged collaborator-excavators – dogs that are specially trained for truffle hunting – you will discover how to locate the famous tuber and extract it along with our team. This is a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the unspoilt nature of the splendid Umbrian hills for a couple of hours. The tour will then continue in the company’s sales point with a tasting of the condiments made with truffles and then the in-house experts will explain the characteristics and curiosities that revolve around the world of this Umbrian speciality par excellence. You will also have the opportunity to purchase the products of this area’s historic truffle industry.
