Hang gliding in Umbria, fly with a view across the borders

Gaze out over the mountains in front of you, close your eyes and let the breeze caress your face. when the instructor gives you the signal, start running alongside him following the slope in front of you. In just a few moments, your heart will start pumping and without even realizing it, you’ll find yourself floating in the air in complete silence.

Hang gliding in Umbria, with take-off from Monte Cucco, offers breath-taking landscapes and a flight over the valleys that will remain in your memory for your entire life. The Monte Cucco massif, with its 1556 m altitude, is not only one of the highest peaks in the Umbria-Marche Apennines but it is also extraordinarily rich in waterways, springs and deep cracks in the rock from which rushing torrents explode into spectacular waterfalls.

This experience lasts about two hours, including preparation and the final stages, but the actual flight can vary in length from 10 and 20 minutes. The flight is in tandem, so you will plan it with your instructor. who will always have control of the glider. You just have to relax and enjoy the view.

Recommended clothing

Comfortable clothing is recommended, similar to the clothing usually needed in the mountains, including boots with a sturdy sole. It is always important to wear or carry with you a windcheater/anorak, even in the hottest months. Sunglasses are recommended.
