Self-guided bike tour between the upper plateaux and the Valnerina

A 5-day self-guided bike tour to discover the Colfiorito plateaus, the greenery of the Valnerina and the plains of Castelluccio, the true heart of the Monti Sibillini National Park. You will reach Spoleto, a city of extraordinary beauty, via the historic Via della Spina route. From there you will go on to San’Anatolia di Narco and then Ferentillo, first passing through the former Spoleto-Norcia Railway trail and then the river Nera Greenway. Leaving the latter behind you, you will climb towards Monteleone di Spoleto, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It will then head towards Cascia and Norcia. You will then enter the heart of the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, crossing ‘little Umbrian Tibet’ to reach Castelluccio di Norcia. You will then tackle a dirt-track climb to get to an altitude of 1795 m a.s.l. then descend to the small village of Preci and return to the starting point at Colfiorito.

This route should only be embarked upon by well-trained cyclists. It is suitable for both mountain bikes and gravel bikes.
