Birdwatching in Umbria, on the shores of Lake Trasimeno

The shores of Lake Trasimeno are an important stopping off point for migratory birds, with the extensive reeds and shallow waters making it an ideal site for nesting. You will have the opportunity to visit a protected oasis within the Regional Park of Lake Trasimeno and discover a site of great ornithological interest. The oasis, in fact, is located on the south-eastern shore of the lake in an area where 202 different species of birds can be counted throughout the year. Birdwatching in Umbria, along the paths of the oasis, is exciting in all the seasons and you will also have the opportunity to take part in the scientific birds-ringing. The experience includes a tour and presentation of the oasis and its features, visiting the water lily garden and the lake’s medieval and modern-day outflowing streams. You won’t even have to think about binoculars because they will be provided for you directly on site.

Recommended clothing

Bring a windcheater/anorak with you, even if the activity takes place in the summer months.
