Self-guided bike tour – Umbria by bike

Six days of peaceful cycling, crossing Umbria from north to south along the most attractive cycle paths on your self-guided bike tour!

Starting in the north, from Città di Castello, the lovely river Tiber cycling path will lead you to Umbertide; you will only leave the path to go up towards Montone, a lovely little village and pearl of the Alta Valtiberina (Upper Tiber valley). Continuing alongside the river Tiber initially, and then over gentle hills, you will reach the splendid city of Perugia before setting off again, following the new cycle path, towards Lake Trasimeno. At the end of the tour of the lake, you will go south-west to Marsciano and then to Bevagna. From here, cycling on the beautiful path that starts from Assisi, you will reach Spoleto. To reach the Marmore and Terni waterfalls, you will first take the spectacular former Spoleto-Norcia Railway trail, full of exciting viaducts and tunnels, and finally the river Nera route called the Greenway.

The route is suitable for cyclists accustomed to cycling and moderately fit. It is suitable for both mountain bikes and gravel bikes.
