Just a bit of flatland between the Nostore valley and Monte Peglia
Hard-core training and a lot of effort leads to the greatest satisfaction
This challenging 94-km tour, with an altitude gain of 1600 metres, extends through the unspoilt woods between the Nestore valley and Monte Peglia. It is one of the toughest itineraries among our tour options, due to the toughness of the route and the almost total absence of flatlands, so we absolutely do not recommend it to beginners or enthusiasts without considerable physical fitness and training. We will set off from Marsciano, a pretty little town famous for its brick production, and after having overcome some strenuous climbs during which we’ll see the landscape around us change from rural to mountainous, we will reach Montegabbione, where we will make a proper stop. From here we will continue towards Montegiove, cycling on the hardest part of our route, the uphill stretches of Montegiove and Pornello which lead almost to the top of Monte Peglia. However, we’ll find ourselves going through some extraordinarily beautiful places and so our efforts will be well rewarded. Once at the top of the Pornello ascent, we will turn towards San Venanzo, and after a long descent of some 15 km, we’ll return to our starting point in Marsciano. For the more well-trained or enterprising, you’ll have the opportunity of cover the last 7-km climb up to the top of Monte Peglia and then return back along the same road. Our guides are waiting to accompany you on this exciting day of tough cycling but also of unique landscapes. Book now!
