Tradition has it that St. Macario was dedicated to the ascetic life and met the other two hermits who lived in the same area only once a week, on a Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The three celebrated the Eucharist together and shared a small meal before spending the whole day accompanying each other to their respective hermitages. The very simple little chapel is made of bricks and has a rectangular floor plan and a sloping roof.
