It is named after <em>Lucrezia della Genga<\/em>, a noble woman from Ancona who passed a building behind the town walls on her twelve sisters, members of the Third Order of Saint Francis (Secular Franciscan Order) in 1425.\u00a0 <strong>A large number of <\/strong>lapidary <strong>ruins <\/strong>are shielded <strong>in the apse <\/strong>of the old Church dedicated to <em>St. Giovanni<\/em><strong> and in the two <\/strong>adjacent <strong>halls. <\/strong>The remains witness the long history of the town from the Roman Age to the Renaissance up to modern times: a collection among the most ancient ones in Umbria, after Gubbio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lapidary Museum was officially inaugurated on 26 September 2009 and is located in some areas of St. Giovanni Battista ancient convent, renowned as &#8220;Monastero delle Lucrezie&#8220;.
