Sein Name ist auf die Tatsache zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren, dass sich in dieser Gegend in der antike eine H\u00f6hle mit Baumaterialien befand.<\/p>\n<p>Der Brunnen, der nach zahlreichen Arbeiten zum Vorschein kam, erstreckt sich bis in eine Tiefe von 36 Metern und besteht aus zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Teilen: Der erste Teil ist rund und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber einen Durchmesser von ca. 3,40 Metern, der zweite ist rechteckig mit einer Gr\u00f6\u00dfe von 60&#215;80 cm, wobei deutliche Zeichen der etruskischen Balken zu erkennen sind. Dabei handelt es sich um Einkerbungen an den Seitenw\u00e4nden, um das Einsteigen in den Brunnen sowie das Heraussteigen aus dem Brunnen zu erm\u00f6glichen.<\/p>\n<p>Nachdem ein handgeschriebener Brief von <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Antonio_da_Sangallo_der_J%C3%BCngere\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane<\/em><\/a> gefunden wurde, entdeckt von <em>Lucio Ricetti<\/em> im Jahr 1999, konnte best\u00e4tigt werden, dass dieser Brunnen der erste im Auftrag von Papst Clemens VII. rund um das Jahr 1527 in Auftrag gegebene Brunnen in Orvieto war. Der Brunnen wurde vollst\u00e4ndig von Hand in den lithoiden Tuffstein gegraben, aus dem der Fels von Orvieto besteht, und muss einen sehr alten Ursprung haben, da es um ihn herum eine Reihe von R\u00e4umen und &#8222;H\u00f6hlen&#8220; gibt, die aus verschiedenen Epochen stammen und unterschiedlichen Zwecken dienten: Reste von Gr\u00e4bern, Tunnel f\u00fcr Wasser und Tanks aus der etruskischen Zeit, aber auch Reste eines Ofens f\u00fcr Keramik oder von Kellern aus dem Mittelalter.<\/p>\n<p>Um die Weihnachtszeit wird der Brunnen seit einigen Jahren zum Aufstellen einer wunderbaren Krippe genutzt, die zu einer Touristenattraktion wurde und unter dem Namen \u201eKrippe im Brunnen\u201c mit echten religi\u00f6sen Darstellungen zum Thema der Geburt Jesu Christi bekannt ist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In einer der \u00e4ltesten und sch\u00f6nsten Gegenden der Stadt, die von der Via della Cava aus erreichbar ist, befindet sich der interessante und gleichnamige Brunnen.
