Baumaterialien und Keramik waren die Hauptprodukte der Stadt, die bis heute f\u00fcr ihr Handwerk ber\u00fchmt ist. Die Produktion wurde so intensiv betrieben, dass in einigen F\u00e4llen Majolika als Verhandlungsgrundlage bei der Zahlung von Steuern oder im Handel verwendet wurde, um Geld zu ersetzen, als dieses nicht mehr verf\u00fcgbar war.<\/p>\n<p>In der ganzen Stadt beweisen die \u00dcberreste der alten Keramik\u00f6fen, dass es in der Renaissancezeit alleine in diesem Ort zweiundf\u00fcnfzig aktive Betriebe gab. Die Funde zeugen au\u00dferdem von innovativen Techniken und Stilen, die manchmal so revolution\u00e4r waren, dass sie noch heute Elemente aus der Vergangenheit enthalten. Eine Art &#8222;Erinnerungsst\u00fcck der T\u00f6pferkunst&#8220;, die furchtlos die Originalit\u00e4t und Modernit\u00e4t des Neuen begr\u00fc\u00dft.<\/p>\n<p>Die wertvollen Sammlungen des im<strong> Museo Regionale della Ceramica<\/strong> \u2013 untergebracht im Klosterkomplex San Francesco aus dem 14. Jahrhundert \u2013 stellen das tiefe k\u00fcnstlerische Bewusstsein und den Stolz dar, den die Majolika-Meister aus Deruta auf ihre heutigen Nachkommen \u00fcbertragen haben. Das Haus und der Laden gelten noch heute als Mittelpunkt des Lebens in der Stadt.
